Business Controller

The 55 people in Edenred Finland team are looking for colleague to join us as soon as possible.

You will vibe with us

You will be part of a small, dynamic and international financial team (composed of 6 self-driven team members + externalized accounting), dealing with all possible financial topics occurring in a company (reporting, treasury, planning & budget, accounting, business control, internal control, etc.).

Your tasks will be (non-exhaustive):

  • Monthly Closing & Reporting: revenues & volumes bookings, reporting preparation, P&L commenting, etc.
  • Business Control: support the other departments (Sales, IT & Marketing) by providing recurring & on-demand performance analysis
  • Financial Planning: Participation to yearly budget, 3 years strategic plan & current year estimates preparation
  • Internal Control: involvement in the internal control schedule in order to manage the risks of our operations
  • More generally, you will be involved in ad-hoc analysis needed by the Chief Financial Officer, related to company-wide projects, financial reporting, improvement of processes, costs analysis, etc.

Because our Finance team is small, team members are expected to back each other up. So, you’ll be able to be involved with treasury management, costs control, Customer Care support, consolidation process, etc.

Preferably, you have worked 2 to 4 years in a similar function, or with experience in external audit, coupled with a corporate experience in an international organization. You have studied in a Business School or University in Accounting, Finance or Economics.

Ideally you have:

  • Excellent analytical skills and reliability
  • Accounting & Finance expertise
  • Autonomous way of working, with high standard of quality
  • Taste in working in a global organization
  • Very strong proficiency on Excel, experience with Business Intelligence software seen beneficial
  • Fluent written and spoken English (other languages such as Finnish or French seen beneficial)
  • Open-minded, flexible, energetic and proactive team player attitude, willing to learn, help and support other team members

Your key stakeholders will be the other Controllers of the team, your direct report the CFO, externalized Accounting Team, and the other departments: Sales, Marketing, IT, Operations or Customer Care.

In this role, you are expected to take the initiative, have a will to develop and pro-actively find new ideas to make sure that Edenred’s business objectives and customer satisfaction are fulfilled.

Expected start date

The starting date should be as soon as possible. More important than some specific date is to find the right person for the team.

We are currently working partly remotely, but for at least for onboarding you need to be prepared to be physically at our office in Vallila, Helsinki. We follow the official recommendations given and currently our government is recommending remote working.

Marketing trainee

Are you just getting started on your marketing or communications career and hoping to put the skills you’ve learned in school into practice? Are you looking for a job where you can be hands-on doing a variety of marketing activities? If so, you may be the right fit for us.

You will vibe with us

The Edenred Finland team is 55 people strong and, in this role, you will be part of our marketing team of 4 people. You will report to the Marketing Director and work closely with the whole marketing team and cross-functionally with sales, product development and customer care.

The types of things your tasks as marketing trainee include:

  • Copywriting: emails, website, social media posts, ad copy etc. In Finnish and English.
  • Graphic design: photo editing, creating layouts from existing templates
  • Email marketing: setting up emails in our emailing tool and sending them out
  • Social media posts: creating the copy and images to post in our social media channels
  • Website content management: working in the back-end of our website
  • Internal comms

We offer you the opportunity to get hands-on in many areas of marketing: from copy-writing and graphic design to working on campaigns in our various channels – the projects you will work on will depend to a large degree on your skills, experience and interests.

We will vibe with you

You should excel in this role if you:

  • Have an open-minded with a can-do attitude
  • Are reliable and can work independently on tasks
  • Are tech-savvy: have experience using software and are willing to learn how to use new tools
  • Are a team player: are used to working on projects as part of a team
  • Are fluent in both Finnish and English both spoken and written
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office tools
  • All experience with marketing tools is considered a plus

You do not have to have prior Marketing experience, but if you have done any of the above kind of work – even if it’s for a student group or your own social media account or website, tell us about it as it is definitely an advantage.

Expected start date

The starting date is flexible but in October. More important than some certain starting date is to find the right person for the team.

Other details about role and working culture

This is a full-time position, but we are prepared to be flexible at times if needed. The trainee period is 6 months from agreed starting date and our trainee compensation includes monthly trainee salary and on top of that benefits according to our company policy.

We are currently working mostly remotely, but for onboarding you need to be prepared to be physically at our office in Vallila, Helsinki. We follow the official recommendations given and currently our government is recommending remote working.

You will get an onboarding both to your own role and overall to our company’s business. During your trainee period you will see closely how a local business unit operates as part of global corporation. In our daily life we use both Finnish and English, and in this role especially it is important to have fluent skills in both languages.
