How do I activate my card?

You can activate your cards on the Edenred application

Please note:

  • Each benefit has its own card. Lunch and Virike are on a single card named Edenred, while other benefits, such as Massage, Transport, and Wellbeing, have cards with their own names.
  • Each card has its own activation serial number, and each card must be activated separately. The same activation serial number cannot be used to activate other cards.
  • If you receive a new card, for example, to replace an expired one, you must activate it to use your benefits.
  • Your employer decides whether you have a virtual or physical card. Massage, Transport, and Wellbeing benefits are only available as virtual cards, while the Lunch/Virike benefit can be either a physical card or solely a virtual card.


Choose the option that suits your situation best:

I'm a new Edenred user.

I already have an Edenred app account.

I've changed employer/my other employer also offers Edenred benefits/my employer's contract with Edenred has changed.

I'm a new Edenred user:

  1. Download the Edenred app from your app store
  2. Open the app, select Finland as the country, and click 'Confirm'
  3. Start creating credentials by selecting 'Create my account'
  4. Enter a functioning email address as your username (we recommend using a personal email address instead of a work email. This way you'll have access to your email even during possible absences and you can always log in to the application with the same credentials, even if you change employers.)
  5. Create a password
  6. Enter your Finnish personal identification number (your benefits are linked to it by your employer)
  7. Read and accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
  8. Specify how we may contact you
  9. Confirm your account via the link sent by email
  10. Unactivated cards are visible on the homepage of the app once you have logged in. Click 'Activate'
  11. Enter your Finnish personal identification number and the 10-digit activation serial number of the card.
    It is not the 16-digit serial number found on the front of the card.

    The virtual card's 10-digit activation serial number can be found from the email sent by Edenred Finland. (Massage, Transport and Wellbeing cards are only virtual.)
    The physical card's 10-digit activation serial number is behind the card next to the CVC code.

    (Note! If you get an error message about the Finnish personal identification number, please contact your employer. It is possible that your Finnish personal identification number has been entered incorrectly in the employer's system.)

You have now registered to the Edenred app and can start using your benefits! Please remember to activate each of your card with their own activation serial number, if you have several benefits in use. The one and the same activation serial number cannot be used to activate other cards.

I already have an Edenred app account:

  1. Download the Edenred app from your app store, if you haven't yet
  2. Open the app, select Finland as the country, and click 'Confirm'
  3. Select 'I have an account' to log in
  4. Unactivated cards are visible on the homepage of the app once you have logged in. Click 'Activate'
  5. Enter your Finnish personal identification number and the 10-digit activation serial number of the card.
    It is not the 16-digit serial number found on the front of the card.
  • The virtual card's 10-digit activation serial number can be found from the email sent by Edenred Finland. (Massage, Transport and Wellbeing cards are only virtual.)
  • The physical card's 10-digit activation serial number is behind the card next to the CVC code.

I've changed employer/my other employer also offers Edenred benefits/my employer's contract with Edenred has changed:

If you have previously registered to the Edenred app, the same credentials work even if 
you have changed employers. You can see all your active employment relationships and benefits in the same Edenred app account.

  1. Download the Edenred app from your app store, if you don't have it
  2. Open the app, select Finland as the country, and click 'Confirm'
  3. Select 'I have an account' to log in
  4. Unactivated cards are visible on the homepage of the app once you have logged in. Click 'Activate'
  5. Enter your Finnish personal identification number and the 10-digit activation serial number of the card.
    It is not the 16-digit serial number found on the front of the card.
  • The virtual card's 10-digit activation serial number can be found from the email sent by Edenred Finland. (Massage, Transport and Wellbeing cards are only virtual.)
