What is Apple Pay, how do I use it and how do I make payments with it?

Apple Pay is a contactless payment method used via iOS devices (e.g. iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch) to which you can connect Mastercard-based Edenred payment cards.

If you have an Edenred payment card and a smart device that supports Apple Pay, you can use the device as a payment method for all of your benefits. Payments can be made with payment terminals that support contactless payments - completely free of charge. So it's a card payment, but your smart device works as a means of payment.

You can use the payment service by opening the 'Wallet' application on your device and adding a new card (+) from the upper right corner. You can enter the card information manually or scan your (physical) card with a camera. Read and accept the terms of use and enter the confirmation code you received by email.

You can pay by double-clicking the side or home button on your device. When paying, hold the top of the phone close to the payment terminal. With Apple Pay, when the contactless payment limit is exceeded (over €50), the phone will ask you for additional identification (fingerprint, PIN code or Face ID).

The payment limits are the same when paying with Apple Pay as with the Edenred payment cards. Check the payment limits determined by the Tax Administration ›

Edenred is the only employee benefits service provider in Finland that enables the use of Apple Pay as a payment method for employee benefits.
