Article 1 – Description of the Google Pay Service

1.1 Google Pay is a Service ("Service") provided by Google LLC ("Google") that allows users of the Service ("User") to perform contactless payment transactions or in-app purchases on a mobile application or merchant site with any Android devices listed in Section 4 below, using prepaid cards, issued by Edenred Finland Oy ("Edenred" based in Elimäenkatu 15, 00510 Helsinki, Finland), without having to physically present them.

Article 2 – Terms and Conditions of Use applicable to the use of an Edenred Benefit with Google Pay

2.1 The registration and the use in Google Pay of any of the Edenred prepaid cards including, but not limited to, Lounari, Virike, Työmatka/Transport and Hieronta/Massage Benefits (together "Cards") constitutes acceptance of these Specific Terms and Conditions of Use for the Edenred Benefits  –  Google Pay (hereinafter "T&Cs"). Please refer here for Edenred Solutions’ Terms of Use. The User may also need to accept the Google Pay Terms and Conditions.

2.2 In the event of dispute among the Edenred Solutions’ Terms of Use and these T&Cs, these T&Cs shall prevail.

2.3 The User may remove their Card(s) at any given time from the Service and the aforementioned of Terms of Use of Edenred Solutions remain applicable.

2.4 Edenred reserves the right to modify these T&Cs at any time.

2.5 For any request for information regarding the use of Google Pay with the Cards, the User may contact Edenred on the website MyEdenred.fi.

2.6 For any request for information concerning Google Pay, or the Google and/or Google Pay Terms and Conditions of Use, the User must contact Google directly here.

Article 3 – Commitments of the User

3.1 The User expressly agrees to use the Cards only for their own purposes. The use of the Cards by any third party is strictly prohibited.

3.2 The User expressly undertakes to comply with the provisions of these T&Cs as well as the Google terms applicable to Google Pay, available here (these terms are maintained by Google and Edenred is not responsible for their content).

3.3 The User is strongly recommended to informs himself regularly of any updates to these T&Cs and the Google Pay terms of use.

Article 4 – Terms of use of the Service

4.1 To use the Cards, the User must have at the same time:

  • a valid Card;
  • An NFC-compatible Android device equipped with Lollipop 5.0 or a later version for in-store purchases. Devices that are not Near Field Communication (NFC) compatible can be used to make purchases with Google Pay in mobile apps.

4.2 In order to use the Service, the Card must be added to Google Wallet app. To add the Card:

4.2.1 The User must open the "Wallet" application, log in with their Google account, click on "Payment Method", then "Enter the details manually". The User must then manually enter the 16 digits of their Card either manually or by scanning the card, their name as well as the expiry date and the Card Verification Code (CVC on the back of the Card).

4.2.2 The User must then read and accept these T&Cs.

4.2.3 The User must then enter a verification code that he has obtained by email at the address linked to their individual and secure account at Edenred ("MyEdenred") or by contacting Customer Service at +358 (9) 7594 2848, Monday - Friday, 09:00-16:00.

4.2.4 At the end of the above procedure to check the various information concerning the User and the Card, the User may use the Card through the Service, unless Google or Edenred finds the User or Card information ineligible.

4.2.5 The User can contact the Customer Service at the contact details above to obtain additional information.

4.3 To make an in-store payment, the mobile device’s Near Field Communication (NFC) antenna must be enabled and the User must unlock their device and place it a few centimetres above the contactless payment terminal. Google Pay will automatically start up when it is configured as the default wallet; otherwise, the User will have to open the app themselves.

4.4 To make an in-app payment, the User must click the payment button with Google Pay then select their Edenred Card in Google Pay. An authentication method (biometric fingerprint or PIN dedicated to Google Pay) may be requested by Google Pay at payment.

4.5 The User is informed and expressly agrees that any payment transaction via the Service is final, as confirmed by the User.

4.6 The use of the Service is free of charge (from Edenred). However, active mobile subscription and internet connection are required, bringing their own charges.

4.7 The User may at any time stop using the Service. To do this, the User must delete the data relating to their Cards in all Android devices that are using the Google Pay service.

4.8 Edenred reserves the right to terminate use of the Service at any time. In the event of ending the Service, it is expressly agreed that the Edenred Solutions’ Terms of Use continue to govern the use of the Cards.

Article 5 – Security

5.1 The security rules applicable to the use of the Cards are as follows:

(i) keep your phone/ device/ equipment under surveillance;

(ii) use an adequate and sufficient level of security (e.g. password, biometrics, etc.);

(iii) securely store passwords and PIN’s;

(iv) use Google Pay Service in accordance with its updated terms of use;

5.2 The User is expressly informed that in the event of suspension/blocking of the Cards under the conditions set out in his T&Cs, the Service will no longer be available without the Edenred’s or Google’s engagement.

5.3 In case of fraudulent use of their Card or loss, the User must:

(i) block their Card under the conditions described in the provisions of the Edenred Solutions’ Terms of Use

(ii) remove their Card from Google Wallet

In the absence of deletion of the Card from Google Wallet, the Service remains available.

5.4 In the event of the loss or theft of their Android device, the User may visit Google Pay support page for all the information concerning the protection of payment information.

Article 6 – Data Processing

6.1 Edenred processes personal data for purposes relating to the Management of Employee Benefits. The user is invited to read the characteristics of processing via the link here.

6.2 In accordance with the applicable regulations, the User has the right to access, rectify, or delete their personal data. The User may also assert their right to object to the processing of their personal data.

6.3 The User is informed that should the User choose to delete their personal data, the User will no longer be able to use the Card and/or the Service without Edenred’s liability being incurred.

6.4 For any questions, requests, or complaints concerning the processing of their personal data by Edenred, the User may contact the Data Protection Officer by submitting the form available here or by sending and email to DPO.Finland@edenred.com.

6.5 The User has the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority. In Finland, the relevant data protection authority is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman: https://tietosuoja.fi.

6.6 Google’s use of the data, including personal data relating to the User, is governed by the Terms and Conditions of Use and/or any other document provided by Google, which we invite you to read.

Article 7 – Liability / Limits of Liability

7.1 Edenred will perform the necessary checks and authentications when registering the Card in Google Wallet. Edenred Solutions’ Terms of Use are applicable, particularly those relating to Edenred Finland’s liability within the framework of the Card’s use.

7.2 Edenred is not liable for the use of the Google Pay service and/or any other computer/software equipment provided by Google, particularly in terms of their performance or their security.

7.3 Given that the Cards are personal and registered, in accordance with the regulations in force, the User must never allow the use of their Cards and/or Service by any third party. The User is deemed and remains solely liable for the use that may be made of the Service and/or the Card by a third party who has accessed the Service by their action and assumes all the risks relating to its use, particularly the transactions made, without Edenred’s and/or Google’s liability being incurred within his framework.

Article 8 – Miscellaneous

8.1 All Intellectual Property Rights belonging to Edenred and/or Google shall remain vested in that respective Party. No Intellectual Property Rights shall be transferable or licensable.

8.2 These T&Cs shall be governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes arising from the Terms of Use shall be resolved by a court competent under the Finnish Code of Judicial Procedure or other applicable law.
