Instructions on using Apple Pay with Edenred card
Apple Pay is an easy and secure payment method that works everywhere in Edenred’s network where a contactless payment terminal is available (ie. where you can use ‘lähimaksu’). Apple Pay works in Edenred cards, which have the contactless payment feature. Adding Edenred card to Apple Pay is easy and can be done like with any payment card. Please follow these steps:
- Open the Wallet app and choose to add a new card by pressing the (+) sign from the upper right corner
- Add your card information (card number, period of validity, CVC)
-
- You can also add your physical card information by “scanning” the card in the Wallet app (see the image on the left). The app will read the card number automatically and all you have to do is to add the period of validity and the CVC code.
-
- If you are using the mobile solution you can check your virtual card information from MyEdenred
- Select to receive a verification code by email to the address provided at MyEdenred or contact our customer service
- Enter the verification code to activate your card at Wallet app
Frequently asked questions
Apple Pay allows you to use your iPhone, your Apple Watch or your iPad as a payment instrument to pay your lunch or recreational benefit according the same rules as your Ticket Duo card or Edenred card.
Apple Pay is available free of charge and without subscription for all Edenred cardholders. To use it, you need to be equipped with a compatible device and to have registered your card on the “Wallet” app of your iPhone, in the settings of your iPad or on the “Watch” app of your Apple Watch.
Add your Edenred card to Apple Pay and pay by holding your phone close to a NFC-terminal. Pay the same way as using a credit card, but easier. Double-click the side-button or home button, confirm either with a TouchID or FaceID and hold the top of your iPhone close to an NFC-reader. Then, sign the paper receipt and you’re done.
Edenred payments can be done with iPhone 6 or newer model, iPad with Touch ID or Face ID, Apple Watch, MacBook Pro with Touch ID.
You can add and use Edenred card with Apple Pay. Please note, that cards having text “Lounas” or “Virike” on the front side can not be added to Apple Pay.
Yes, you can have several payment cards in Apple Pay. You have the opportunity to define one card by default. You can also choose another card before transaction, if you have multiple cards registered to Apple Pay.
Once your card is registered on the Wallet app of your iPhone, have your Apple Watch ready and unlock it.
- Open the “Watch” app on your Apple Watch and select “Wallet and Apple Pay”.
- Click on display “Add” next to the Edenred card.
- Enter the cryptogram (3 number safety code) shown on the back of the card and click on “Next”. Read and validate the Terms and Conditions.
After this step, you have the choice to receive an email at the address of your myedenred.fi account including a verification code to enter or to call our customer care at (09) 7594 2848 (lnf/mcf).
The network is the same as for the Edenred card. You can use Apple Pay at all the locations belonging to Edenred merchant network, which are equipped with a contactless terminal reader (NFC).
Yes, Wallet application can have 8 different cards. Additionally, Edenred card can be added to four different devices e.g. two iPhones and two Apple Watches if card owner has that many devices.
Contactless payments (below 50€) made with the Edenred card, Apple Pay or Google Pay will no longer require signing a receipt. If the customer uses Apple Pay or Google Pay to pay over 50€, the application will require cardholder’s re-authentication (Fingerprint, PIN code or Face ID).
Payments limits are same as with Edenred card. The Finnish tax authority defines the annual minimum and maximum payment limits for lunch benefit; see the payment limits for the current year from here.
To pay with Apple Pay, we recommend using the TouchID or FaceID feature that guarantees a high level of security. In case this feature does not work, you can enter your PIN/locking code on your iPhone.
With Apple Pay, your mobile is an additional instrument that allows you to use your lunch and recreational benefit. The legislation is still the same regardless for paying with Edenred card registered to Apple Pay or for paying with a plastic card. Benefit is always personal and you can buy one lunch per 6 hours work period.
The transactions done with Apple Pay are available on Wallet transaction section, your MyEdenred app or in your MyEdenred.fi personal account, in the same way as the transactions you have done with your Edenred card.
Go to www.icloud.com to use the “Find my iPhone” feature that allows you to delete all your card registered on Apple Pay. From then, your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or MacBook Pro will not be able to be used as a payment instrument.
